Improving the Running & Walking Experience - for you!

Greetings!
This last month has been one of most interesting and energizing
that I have experienced:
I kept my streak alive at the Walt
Disney World Marathon (18) and it was more fun than ever.
The 4th annual 26.2
with Donna in Jacksonville was a weekend full of uplifting experiences
and friendships (my 157th marathon).
Barbara and I travelled to the Philippines where an energizing
running boom is going on, meeting lots of friendly and interesting
runners. They have embraced my run-walk-run method so we did a lot
of talking and a lot of walk breaks.
Since I am now officially working with runDisney,
they produced some free
video tips that explain my training method at RunDisney.com.
Take a look at see what you think.
I hope to see many of you at Disney's
Princess Half Marathon on February 27th in Orlando!
Enjoy every mile.
Jeff

Travel
The retreat
in Carmel was wonderful. I believe that we had about the best conditions
of any community in the US: sunny skies, mild temperatures, and
beautiful running routes overlooking the sea. This one closed out
quickly. Our next two destination retreats are in Vail (where I
trained before the 1972 Olympic Trials), and Lake Tahoe area. I
love solving running problems, in beautiful surroundings with great
people.
It was a month full of clinics and we are looking forward to the
weekend
retreat in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida.
There are two wonderful running
tours in Europe this year which I will attend: Florence, Italy
and Athens, Greece. Both are in November. You probably know about
the Apostolos tour to the Athens marathon-with the resources to
connect you directly to the heritage of running. Two of the key
Apostolos leaders are offering a tour to the Florence Marathon,
with many activities including wine tasting. Read more at RunItaly.com.

Resources
The Nite Beams folks have come up with a "headlamp"
hat with lights in the visor. I like this so much that I made
it the official headlamp for our Galloway Training Programs.
Personalized training programs: My good friend Dr. Gerry Purdy
is developing a great new website, RunningTrax, to help you plan
your runs. I understand there are a number of business development
opportunities with the company. If interested, contact tom.marshall@fitnesstrax.com.
There's a lot of interest in ultra marathoning these days. I have
several Ecoach clients who are pushing back their frontiers into
the longer distances. I am prejudiced but my son Brennan has a great
documentary about the rigors and trail beauty of this sport, called
INDULGENCE.
Want to get coached through a Jeff Galloway program in your ear
as you run? Check out these RunKeeper
FitnessClasses.
I was honored to write an "afterword" for a great new
book about couples running together. The forward was written by
multiple world record holder in distance events (and a hero of mine
as a boy) Ron Clark. Take a look at Couple
on the Run!

Dreaded
diarrhea: A Stinky Topic
Some marathoners call it runners' trots; others call it diarrhea.
Whatever the name, few runners openly discuss the topic yet many
secretly suffer. Here's some information about this stinky topic
that might help you bring peace to your workouts.
