Marathon FAQ

Question: Doesn’t marathon training force you to deal with pain?

Answer: Debilitating aches, pains and fatigue are what I call “self-imposed punishment.” While it is common to have a few minor aches or pains as the long run distance increases, most of these go away within 2-3 days IF  1) the pacing is slow enough,  2) the run-walk-run ratio is conservative enough, 3)there is a rest day (no running) between runs.
